For over a year, John Stanley (StanJo) held in-person, therapeutic music sessions with our clients. Due to COVID-19, he’s been arranging online music sessions. Our group absolutely LOVE his passion, enthusiasm, and dedication. John and his music uplift the group’s mood, as well as self-expression. They look forward to his sessions. – Mosaic Glendale Drive Group Home
When John Stanley (StanJo Music) came to Continuum of Care in 2017 as a Case Manager, I noticed a positive change in the client’s overall mood since John started working with them. He used music as a therapeutic tool to enhance their lives. The clients became happier, more productive, and more self-sufficient during John’s time with them.
I’ve known John Stanley (StanJo Music) since 2013 and as he settled into his case manager position, he began using music as a therapeutic tool. In 2020, our agency decided to incorporate music into the program and John Stanley was the first person I thought of. John provides a weekly therapeutic music session to our group via Zoom. Charisma, dedication, and a caring heart are some of the qualities John possesses. The group looks forward to seeing John each and every week. – Chapel Haven Schleifer Center Inc.
I had the pleasure of working alongside John Stanley (StanJo Music) for numerous years at ACES. As an educator in the Unified Arts, I am often in charge of a variety of assemblies for our students. John was always an instrumental part of the holiday and talent shows. Whether tutoring, leading, or performing alongside our students, John is an Encourager. He sees a person’s potential for greatness and carefully cultivates growth. – (ACES) Whitney Academy
When I founded my school for early childhood education, it was very important to me that I establish a quality music program for my students. John Stanley (StanJo Music) enthusiastically agreed to create a music program tailored to my preschool-aged children. His motivating and energetic program addresses fine motor skills, memory, and pattern recognition.
John’s program also develops teamwork, self-confidence, self-esteem, and social skills. And, most of all, the children had fun! They were always so excited when they heard, “today is Music Day with Mr. John”!
The same benefits that my students derived from John, will undoubtedly benefit students on the autism spectrum as they are often interested and responsive to music.
John Stanley first provided piano lessons for my daughter when she was 8 years old. In her words, “he taught me a lot and was a lot of fun.” John was incredibly patient with her, as she can tend to be a little spunky. In no time at all, she was learning how to read music. You could tell she felt very comfortable with him and looked forward to their lessons every week. Unfortunately, John moved away, and while she tried to continue lessons with another teacher, never had the love for playing that she did during her time with John. – Parent
